Cy and I had been waiting for this moment for a long, long time. I was so ready to get away from the BYU atmosphere and just be with people who are relatively normal. Don't get me wrong, I love it here, but it tires you out and you have to get a break from it.
I've had a lot of things going on in my life and I just needed a rest, school and all. Thankfully my family came up with a great idea: SNOW TRIP AT THE RANCH!!!
So, this is my grandpa's ranch. He passed away last year, so now it is kind of like a time share for all of my uncles and aunts (and of course my family). Well, we called it for President's Day Weekend, where we got a whole weekend to ourselves, in the middle of nowhere, in the beautiful snow, and it was wonderful. Really. It was so relaxing. We got to watch the snowfall all the time and just have fun. We had snowmobiles, sleds and saucers, and shovels. What else do you need to have an awesome snow vacation?
But, one of my favorite parts was when it stopped snowing and you could just look out at the world for miles and miles. There was a nice, peaceful feel to the place. I felt like I could live there forever without any worries. It's not like we didn't do work up there. We cooked, and cleaned, and shoveled snow...but, it was so much simpler. I can see why my dad misses the farm. Life is just calmer and everything makes sense in such a simpler world. When you add everything that comes with a city life, it gets hectic, confusing, and stressful. Country life is definitely a great way to go.

You can't really appreciate how long they are with all the snow on them.
But, we also had fun, not just having simple reflection moments. Sliding down hills and slides with tons of snow and falling over and flipping. It was just awesome.
We probably almost died about 50 times, but don't worry...it was AWESOME. We got to ride snowmobiles and Cy and I drove ours all the way to the edge of the property and got stuck in a corner. That was frightening. We were on top of snow that almost was as high as a 5' fence. So we had to get off the snowmobile to be able to turn it around. It seemed that every time we tried to lift the snowmobile we just pushed ourselves deeper into the snow. Finally we got it turned around though, after lots of laughs and many times watching Cy fall in the snow (he's not very snow-capable), we drove off and had a lot more fun. Jumps were obviously my favorite and I seriously thought we were going to die several times from flipping over during one.

But it was probably just amazing to be with friends and family for a whole 3 weekends. No judgments, just loving each other and having a lot of fun together. I love it and I want to go back....but, that will have to wait....
